This project started with the love of an animated series, Arcane. Based upon League of Legend lore the series follows the characters along a wild journey. Although the series has many emotional scenes this one impacted me the most. I was inspired at the end of season 1 to re-create a scene where Vi just wanted to fix things but couldn’t. Her head sank and she held it there. It was a very inspiring moment for me with the series. I felt connected with the character. I wanted to have her to have a softer look so I went with blending the shadows and highlights to give a soft complexation.

This project was a fun and personal one! It all started with Call of Duty: Black Ops 1. I used to play videogames when I was younger on Playstation 1, super nintendo, and even gamecube. I became a full on gamer with the release of Black Ops 1. I had fun learning the game and playing both single player and multiplayer. This was the first game I played like it’s kind. It was so much fun. I got to meet people on the game from all over the world and still have some of those friends I made back then. We used to stay up all night playing Call of Duty zombies hoping to get a ray gun because it was the most powerful gun in the game. We would survive round after round. Although they still have the ray gun in the games they make today, there have been changes and it just isn’t the same as it was. I wanted to honor the glorious ray gun and hang it on my wall. I printed this out with a popular phrase from the game said by one of the characters. “You’re done-ski freak-sack!” This hangs on my wall and every time I look at it I am reminded of all the good times we had fighting zombies.

If you are unfamiliar, Raven is a character from the show Teen Titans. They are a group of kid superheroes including Robin. Raven is known to be the “moody” one of the group or the loner of the group. She is more reserved and keeps to herself but along the way you learn a lot about her and she does open up. No spoilers here, but she does care about her team as they are her friends. I wanted to see Raven using her powers to make the team breakfast. So that is what I did. She made them all eggs, bacon, and coffee for breakfast. The black surrounding those items are her powers keeping everything in control. The coffee is kept from spilling because she has control. That is also why she has the plate, she is using her powers to move everything around and start plating the breakfast. It’s good to see her in a different light.
